Patrina Wheat, Psy.D.
Patrina Wheat, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist who completed her doctoral training at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA. Dr. Wheat specializes in Infant Mental Health, Attachment, Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Trauma Focused interventions. She has extensive experience treating a wide range of behavioral and emotional difficulties and is committed to compassionate care for her patients. In addition to her private practice work, Dr. Wheat has experience working in a variety of community mental health settings including clinics, hospitals and schools. She has served on trauma teams in marginalized urban communities and provided assessments and treatment to patients using medically assisted therapy for Opioid and Alcohol dependence. Dr. Wheat utilizes empirically supported treatment modalities such as Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Structural/ Strategic Family Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, CBT and ACT. Dr. Wheat provides a supportive and solution focused approach to lead toward positive therapeutic outcomes for her patients.
