Joann Vaccaro, Ph.D.
Joann Vaccaro, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical and psychologist in practice for over 21 years. She completed her undergraduate studies at New York University and her doctoral training at Hofstra University’s combined Clinical and School Psychology program. Dr. Vaccaro specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy with a focus on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Long Island University’s Brooklyn campus, School of Education in the graduate School Psychology Program. Dr. Vaccaro works with children, adolescents and young adults. She is the Chief Psychologist for Oceanside Union Free School District, where she leads the mental health team and works collaboratively with schools to provide support for children. Dr. Vaccaro was recently selected for recognition as a “Model School Psychology Intern Field Supervisor” by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and its Graduate Education Committee.
